The AGROVALOFI story continues through one of its co-founders, Rafael Fierro, who comes from a very close-knit family in Sinaloa: he and Jesús Eduardo López Leyson are more than cousins; they're like brothers, they tell us. Thanks to this close, trusting relationship, they make the ideal team together with Francisco Antonio Valencia, who also played a key role in creating this project. 

It all started in 2019, when they decided to grow blueberries. Because of its unconventional process, they were very interested in making this a handcrafted crop and, since it is a high-value product, it was also important to build a company with 100% organic processes and the best management technology. 

They sought advice on preparing the field, and it was at an Expo Agro in Irapuato that Rafael met Raúl Mercado. Thanks to his straightforward, helpful manner and his expertise in hydroponics/substrates, all the partners chose to trust him and start a relationship with DIDIHU, they tell us.  

Due to the drought problems across Mexico, AGROVALOFI strives to innovate with every harvest, aiming to use water resources more efficiently and prepare for the future. It is because of this attitude that at DIDIHU we call our growers #AgroHeroes.

This year, they started a blackberry pilot in just 30 pots. Their vision is to become a farm specializing in berries, soon expanding into raspberries, with the long-term ambition of exporting under their own name.

For Rafael, service is essential: “It was the key factor in deciding to work together. The relationship we've built with DIDIHU has been very special; they treat us professionally and care about our success. We consider them friends.” 

As for the product, one of AGROVALOFI's co-founders tells us: “The design of their pots really caught our attention because of its ability to achieve an ideal balance of oxygenation and drainage. It's ‘THE POT,’” he says, adding that its innovative design made it an excellent product in their eyes.
