Peru’s blueberry industry remains strong, but it has recently had to face a number of factors, especially amid increasingly extreme weather conditions. Against this backdrop, blueberry growers gathered at two events that addressed the situation and challenges the industry currently faces and how to meet them.

The cities of Ica and Trujillo hosted the Arándano Summit 2024, organized by Innovak Global and its partners DIDIHU, Morpho, and Adama, welcoming more than 100 attendees on June 18 and 20, respectively, who heard from leading speakers throughout the day on the challenges and opportunities facing this industry.

Attendees shared experiences with top-tier advisors such as Dr. Prometeo Sánchez, Alfredo Lira, Bruno Mancilla, Fernando Diez, Raúl Mercado, and Gonzalo Allendes on plant stress management, the best decisions in the blueberry business, which technologies are recommended in extreme climates, and how biostimulation is key to the crop.

These events highlighted the determination and commitment of Peru’s blueberry industry to overcome current and future challenges. Through innovation, sustainability, and adaptation, growers and experts seek to ensure the continued growth of this industry, which is vital to the Peruvian economy.
