Today we travel to the city of Guasave, Sinaloa, a city with a deep-rooted farming tradition, where three relatives shared a vision: to integrate hydroponic technology to produce blueberries for export. Jesús Eduardo López Leyson, Rafael Fierro, and Francisco Antonio Valencia decided to invest in hydroponics and create their farming company: AGROVALOFI.

When evaluating the ideal technology to produce the crop, they chose a complete hydroponics solution: POTHU pots and GROUNDCOVERHU for their first harvest, which covered 7½ hectares. In 2021, following that success, they decided to harvest 10 hectares, adding FIBERMIX coconut fiber substrate, and to trial 2,000 white pots, as recommended by Raúl Mercado, to measure root performance. 

Jesús tells us: “Hydroponics is a tool that can help us become much more efficient and effective.”
