Why might mold appear?

The presence of mold in Peat Moss can be due to specific storage conditions, such as:
– High temperatures
– Excessive humidity
– Direct sunlight

But it shouldn’t have a negative effect on your plants; it actually helps break down decaying matter.

Practical solution

To know what to do in these cases, follow these instructions:

1.- Expose the substrate to open air: fresh air counteracts the growth of new organisms, which thrive in humid environments.

2.- Loosen the compressed substrate: break up the compressed substrate to make drying easier and prevent microbial growth.

3.- Apply fertilizer if necessary.
